Worship at Oakworth

Worship is central to all we do at Oakworth Methodist Church.

You are warmly invited to share with us at any of our services - the Services page gives dates and venues for all the services mentioned below.

Our main service is held at 10.30 am each Sunday morning.  JIGSAW (formerly Sunday School) takes place at the same time most weeks - see the Young People page for further details.

Messy Church meets monthly on a Thursday afternoon - see their page for details.

  • If you would like us to remember someone in prayer during one of the Services, please contact the Church Office.
  • Coffee and biscuits are served free of charge after most of our services to enable us to get to know each other better.
  • The church is equipped with a public address system and loop system to help people with hearing difficulties.
  • Weekly Notice Sheets are printed. Please send any items for inclusion to David Howarth by the previous Thursday.

Our special services are detailed below:

All Age Worship - monthly - 10.30 am

Each month we have an All-Age worship service when the young people remain in church for the whole service. Some of these services are special multi-media Praise Services led by the Young People themselves, which include drama, modern worship songs led by our Praise Band, and visual aids on screen.

Holy Communion is celebrated monthly as part of the main morning service.

Heartbeat - 3rd Sunday monthly - 6.30 pm at Christ Church, Oakworth

Living Waters, the worship band based at Christ Church, lead this ecumenical reflective service based on modern worship songs.

Oakworth Manor - 4th Sunday monthly - 3.00 pm

A small ecumenical team of helpers lead this short act of worship with the residents up at Oakworth Manor.

Evening Communion - 5th Sunday (quarterly) - 6.00 pm

This is a more informal ecumenical service held when there are five Sundays in the month.

Baptisms, Weddings & Funerals

Any enquiries about special services such as Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals, Marriage Blessings or Renewals of Vows should be directed to the Minister in the first instance.
